Here we have the Republic Attack Shuttle from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a Revell "easy kit" of unspecified scale (probably around 1/120). A lot of folks complain about Revell Star Wars releases, not entirely without reason. These models are very toy like, pre-painted parts feature simplified detail and construction. Despite that, I rather like some of these models, the Nu Class Republic Shuttle being among the best. I love the Tydirium inspired design, this is a case where the ships lineage feels authentic to me. It's a good sized model which very accurately represents the ship from the show. There's not a lot of detail, which is actually accurate to the design. This to me presents a fun and rare opportunity, to creatively greeblie-up an official Star Wars design ILM style, with no studio model to try to match...a blank canvas!
90% of the work on this model was done years ago, then it was packed away while I moved, got married, had kids, etc. I recently pulled it out and decided to finish it up. Check out the Build Log to see the upgrades made to the Revell kit. The pictures in the Gallery below are temporary, I wanted to get something up now but have some finishing touches to do (some painting and installing the wing root guns). I'll update them when the model is complete.
